ENERGY SAVING RADIATOR PANELS

ENERGY SAVING RADIATOR PANELS

Quantity:

Select Number of Panels

Did you know that up to 70% of the heat from the back of a radiator is used to heat the wall behind it. Only about 30% is used to heat the room itself.
As the radiator warms up, it warms the wall behind it. The heat is then transferred to the outside of the wall where it is lost.
Energy is saved and the fuel bills are substantially reduced giving very early payback periods (6 months to 24 months).
These panels have Ofgem accreditation for EEC schemes and after fitting your radiator panels they will reduce your heating bills by up to 20%. That's £60 a year for the average 3 bedroom semi-detached house, which means they will pay for themselves in as little as one season.

The Novitherm Panel is a unique profiled thermal insulator, the result of years of intensive research.

Without Novitherm the radiator must first heat up the wall behind - this heat seeps through the wall and out of the building.

There is no need to remove the radiators to fit the panels and they come complete with comprehensive fitting instructions and a roll of double-sided tape.

Each panel is 688mm high x 444mm wide. Generally each standard sized radiator will need two panels.

With Novitherm the hot air natually rising behind a radiator is caused to spin by the profile of the panel creating a series of vortices, rising at higher speed, and continuing to spin out into the room. The wall behind the panel stays cool.

The rising air curtain extending 2-3 meters above the radiator prevents heat dissipation through the wall and any window above.
The comfort level in the room is significantly improved.
Deteriation behind the radiators and discolouration above is reduced.
The enhanced convective flow pattern improves heat distribution, reduces heat up time and virtually eliminates cold spots. Manufactured in the UK. Registered at UK Patent Office Reg. No. 1012561
The Novitherm panel fits behind the radiator and reduces the wasted heat by insulating the wall keeping it virtually cold. The heat that is saved either heats the air in the room, warming it faster, or is retained in the system so the boiler fires less and uses less fuel.

Helps to reduce carbon dioxide emissions
Reduces heating costs by at least 15% and pays for itself within 2 heating seasons
Increases return water temperature allowing the boiler to fire less often and for shorter periods
Increases and improves convection behind the radiator eliminating cold spots and improving heat distribution
Prevents primary heat loss through the wall
Simple to install without the need to remove the radiator and are not visible
It is unaffected by moisture or water ingress
It can be removed and re-laid without reducing efficiency

Key:
A Wall with radiator
B Full length window
C Wall without radiator
D Wall with radiator insulation panel
In a test conducted at Nottingham City Hospital using Thermal Imaging cameras from outside the building show just how effective our Radiator Insulation Panels are.
Comparison of A and D shows extremely efficient performance of panel, reducing heat loss through the wall.

After panel fitment the increased air acceleration and redirection of the airflow pattern, achieves a more even distribution of heat, which raises comfort levels for all the occupants: this benefit is felt immediately. Saw Tooth Rad-Panels particularly effective when used with LST radiators.

Hard Water Costs Hard Cash

Tested or reported on by Which! Perfect Homes, Home Building and Decorating, Build It, Practical Householder, Kitchens Bedrooms and Bathrooms, Essential Living and Garden Answers. No other product has this test record and some have no consumer tests.

Audio or radio frequency - Scalewatcher uses a patented audio frequency system. Most other products therefore use radio frequency. This is not as effective and needs more space for two coils and can interfere with radio and TV.
Success rate - Scalewatcher has a proven 98% success rate.
Designed to Last - Scalewatcher is built of the highest quality components and has a computerised circuit board protected by resin encapsulation with an estimated life of twenty years. Most others have no protection and therefore are prone to corrosion, with an expected life of around five to ten years.

Transformer - Scalewatcher has a built in transformer - others often use external transformers built into plugs. These have a limited life, usually five years, are difficult to replace and can run hot.
External Box - Scalewatcher is boxed in a high quality box designed for a twenty year life. Others are usually a very thin plastic with a life of around five to ten years.
Technical Support - We offer a free technical visit if required in addition to our telephone help line.

No other product on the market has all the features of the Scalewatcher, which adds up to the best performing, longest lasting water conditioner available and with excellent after sales back up.

The simple, cost-effective way to stop chimney draughts, reduce noise and heat loss.

Special laminate of three poly plastics make it airtight, tear-resistant and long-lasting.
Shape allows some ventilation on two corners to keep the chimney dry.
Completely safe: if it is accidentally heated, it shrivels and deflates.

Inflate your chimney balloon by mouth inflation tube or air bed pump. Before lighting a fire deflate it by opening the tap and then remove it. Use it again and again.

Stops chimney draughts
Can be fitted by anyone in a couple of minutes
Stops debris, soot and bird mess
Reduces outside noise entering the room
Saves on heating bill by stopping downdraughts and updraughts
Allows a little ventilation
Sizes to fit all chimneys
Inflate to install, deflate to remove. Use again and again
The Chimney Balloon has been saving families energy and money for more than 15 years.

All sizes shown are chimney sizes and not balloon sizes. The balloon itself will be slightly larger.

Small size - Typical modern fireplace
Medium size - Victorian fireplace (Most popular size)
Large size - Georgian fireplace
The sizes are length x width.

How to choose the correct size Chimney Balloon.

Before sizing your chimney make sure your fireplace and chimney are cold with no hot ash in the fireplace. Sweeping and vacuuming your fireplace will help make it easier. If you chimney has a damper you should see a metal flap with a lever that closes the chimney.

Chimneys with a damper

The Chimney Balloon should be installed, generally above the damper. Select an area for its installation making sure that this does not interfere with the damper flap or any damper hardware. The area must have parallel or slightly sloping walls ideally with texture for the balloon to grab and lodge when inflated. The damper ledge acts to provide extra support to the weight of the balloon. A Chimney Balloon can also be installed well above the damper, so it is possible to close the damper below it.

Measure the length and depth of the chimney in the location you have selected to install the balloon. Write down the dimensions, and also note if your chimney is round, circular or rectangular in the location you are measuring.

Chimneys without a damper (a chimney with no closing mechanism)

Identify the narrowest part of your chimney within arms reach. Choose an area to install the Chimney Balloon. Make sure the area you select is not interfered with by any hardware or sharp edges in the chimney. The area must have parallel or slightly sloping walls ideally with texture for the balloon to grab and lodge when inflated.

Measure the length and depth of the chimney in the location you have selected to install the Balloon. Write down the dimensions. Measure your chimney about 30cm or so up out of sight where your Chimney Balloon will fit as shown in the diagrams. You will need the side-to-side and the front-to-back inside dimensions. We suggest you use a flexible steel tape measure (Stanley type) or two pieces of cardboard extended like wings.

It is only necessary to measure approximately and choose the Chimney Balloon of the approximate size or slightly bigger than your chimney.

How do I choose the correct size Chimney Balloon if there is a smoke shelf or smoke chamber in my chimney?

Sizing Tips

On any measured flue opening smaller than 12"X12" you should order a Chimney Balloon the exact size or no more than 3" too large in length or width.

On any measured flue opening larger than 12"X12" you should order a Chimney Balloon the exact size or no more than 6" too large in length or width.
