Single-use alkaline batteries use only a fraction of their potential, the rest left unusable. Recharging these batteries can be dangerous and is never to be recommended. This new technology can reliably and safely regenerate dead batteries. Nothing is added to the batteries. They are not recharged but regenerated in a way that releases the potential that is already there.
It does this by perfecting the internal structure of the cell.
The benefits to the environment are clear to see. Annually over 30,000 tons of single-use batteries are thrown out with the domestic rubbish in the UK. Only a tiny percentage of this volume is actually collected for recycling, involving the extraction of component materials such as steel. What is more, there are no established facilities in the UK to effectively reprocess this unpleasant waste and collected batteries are shipped abroad. It is the consumer that pays for this costly exercise, in the high retail price for batteries.
Souvenir Cranwells solution can reduce the volume of waste many times over and presents considerable savings. The process of regenerating a single battery involves a cost of less than a tenth of a penny and a battery can be regenerated for as long as there is potential to be released. Our tests have shown that a single battery can be regenerated up to a hundred times and with each process the battery is returned to up to 95% of its original state.
The refresher uses patented technology which is based on a Thomas Edison patent of 1922.
Thomas Edison discovered that the main reason why alkaline batteries becomes discharged is the accumulation of impurities and foreign matter on and in the positive electrode and the coating of the active material with a scale or crust which seriously impairs the efficient operation of cell.
Edisons patent regenerates the positive electrode elements by thoroughly cleaning them thereby bringing them back to their original state and efficiency. To clean the electrodes Edison took them out of the battery and put them into a boiling mixture ofglycerine, water and caustic soda for 72 hours. The electrodes were then replaced into the battery which then became live.
Souvenir Cranwell Regenerator replicates this process by thoroughly and gently cleaning the electrodes and creating a big number of areas free of sulphatation at the electrode-electrolyte
interface over an average 72 hour period but does it inside the battery itself. This process is absolutely safe and dos no damage to the battery. Nothing is added to the battery; it just releases the potential that is already there. One battery can be regenerated up to 100 times. Capacity of regenerated batteries depends on manufacturer, discharge and storage conditions. Our and our customers tests show that most of the alkaline batteries, for example Duracell Plus, Duracell Ultra, Segasa Evolution, Energizer Ultra, many own brand batteries such us Morissons, Tesco etc. can be regenerated up to 95% of its original capacity.
Power consumption of Regenerator is very low and cost of regeneration is less than a tenth of penny.
Souvenir Cranwell Regenerator can also regenerate some nonalkaline batteries. For example Heavy Duty Single-Use batteries (Panasonic Special, Sky and etc) can be regenerated up to 60% of its original capacity. Titanium batteries (Energizer E2) can be regenerated up to 80% of its original capacity.
