A countdown timer adaptor to improve safety, reduce energy bills and control the use of a wide range of mains operated appliances. The countdown switch does not require any programming and is different from ordinary timers that switch on/off in a pre-set pattern. The adaptor accepts a standard 3 pin mains plug and will deliver power for a pre-set fixed time (5 minutes to 40 minutes), so even if an appliance is left plugged in and switched on, it will automatically be switched off after the pre-set time has elapsed
