The LW10U wall switch/dimmer is designed to replace wall switches that control room lights. It should be used for incandescant lights only between 60W and 300W (Please note the minimum rating of 60W). A Neutral connection is not required for this module so it should easily replace your existing light switch. To turn a light on or off, press the rocker switch for a moment either upwards or downwards. To brighten or dim press and hold the button either upwards or downwards. When the unit is turned off from a dimmed position, it will always return to full brightness the next time you turn it on.Responds to direct X10 commands, and also to All Units On/OffTHIS UNIT IS A DIRECT SWAP FOR A UK LIGHT SWITCH. SIMPLY TAKE OUT YOUR EXISTING LIGHT SWITCH AND WIRE IN THIS UNIT. YOU IMMEDIATELY HAVE X10 CONTROL OF THE LIGHT !!This unit must NOT be used with Low Voltage Halogens, "Energy Saving" lamps, or flourescent lights. SERIOUS damage will occur to the module causing it to melt, if you attempt to wire it to an incorrect style bulb. It is only suitable for "normal" household lights (with filaments in). If you need to control LV Halogens then you should use either an LD10 or the AW10 (below). Energy Saving lights and flourescent lights should only be controlled with an AW10 or AD10.In case you're wondering, there are not currently any X10 double switches, available, neither are there any 2 way switching modules. For either application you should use LD10's and our brass/ stainless steel push switches, or Clipsal switches to solve the problem, alternatively for 2 way switching you can fit 1 LW10 at one end, and then a SS13 and TM13 at the other. The AW10U switch looks just like the LW10U except it is an appliance module that can control any type of load: resistive 10A, motor 3A, incandescent 2000W. A red LED on the front of the switch illuminates to indicate that the module is switched on.Please note that a NEUTRAL connection IS required for the installation of this module. It is quite unusual for a British house to have a Neutral connection at a light switch, however it is normal to have a Neutral at water boiler switches, etc.Responds to direct X10 commands, and also to All Units On/Off.The most common uses for the AW10 are controlling Flourescent lights, "Energy Saving" lights, water heating boilers, dishwashers, and washing machines. The WAPIR replaces an existing wall switch - no neutral wire is needed. It fits into a plaster depth (16mm) wall box. The WAPIR model also has a manual override off switch on the front of the plate. The WAPIR requires a permanent live supply, and should only be used in applications where the lights would not be on for more than 12 hours per day. This is to allow its rechargeable battery enough time to recharge itself from the mains supply. The WAPIR is suitable for small offices, meeting rooms, tutoring rooms, etc. The override off button enables the lights to be held off during video presentations, etc. For wall mounting only. The Wace PIR needs a neutral wire and is suitable for either ceiling or wall mounting. It fits either into a plaster depth (16mm) wall box or onto a ceiling mounted square pattress box.Suitable for stairwells, corridors, toilet lobbies, etc. Click for Specification
Turns on X10 lights when someone enters a room at night Turns lights on when it gets dark and off when it gets light Sends wireless (RF) signals to X10 RF receivers or X10 security systems Use with intelligent 2-way X10 controllers to activate macros Compact & attractive measures approximately 2.5" x 2.6" x 1.5" Time delay between motion stopping & off signal adjustable between 1 minute & 256 minutes (instead of a fixed 6 minutes) Dusk/Dawn feature can be easily enabled so lights/appliances can be turned on whilst it is dark Powered by 2 x AAA batteries, this RF PIR is a must if you don't want to re-wire. Simply select which Address and House Code you want, fit some batteries, then attach to a wall/ceiling. The unit now includes an EPROM so that when the batteries run out, the unit keeps it address settings intact. The unit is programmable so it is possible to make it only detect when it is dark or to detect all the time. It is also possible to set a delay, so that when it sends an "On" it can delay between 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, or 256 minutes before sending an "Off" command. Finally the unit can be used to sense dawn/dusk, and could be used to control lights accordingly (the MS13 will send dawn/dusk commands on it's set address +1, so if it is set as A1, when it gets dark A2 will be turned on, and when it gets light A2 will be turned off). The unit sends RF (radio) signals to an optional X10 RF receiver (TM13). The TM13U will then send the X10 signal down the mains line, to an awaiting X10 receiver (like an AM12, LM12, LW10 or AW10). It can be used either indoors or outdoors (when using outdoors the unit should be sheltered). The picture on the right shows the size of the MS13 when compared to a 3.5" floppy disc. As you can see the unit is very small, and can be placed in a room virtually unnoticed. The MS13E has been recently redesigned and now has an aerial that is detachable from the top of the unit. This gives the unit greater range. The practical RF operating range (the distance between the MS13 and a TM13) is approximately 25 feet, however your own mounting/circumstances may mean the range is slightly shorter or longer.
