An Ionisation smoke detector designed for use with a 12 volt alarm system.

This detector uses a dual ionisation chamber to detect smoke at the very early stages of combustion. The dual chamber makes this detector very stable in operation yet provides a rapid response to smoke. Ionisation detectors are designed to detect particles of smoke but can also detect cooking fumes and would therefore not normally be used close to a cooking environment.

This detector is designed to comply with the alarm levels and timings as set in BS7860.

At a CO concentration of: 150ppm the detector will go into alarm between 10 and 30 minutes.

At a concentration of: 350ppm the detector will go into alarm within 6 minutes.

The detector uses an electrochemical cell and hence has an extremely low power consumption.
